2004 XJR Amplifier
I heard a "POP" behind me and the stereo speakers stopped working. There was a short in the trunk under the fuse box that had affected the Nav system, but the amplifier didn't start when this was fixed.
I need to check out the amplifier, but it is not under the left trunk stack with the DVD and CD players.
Could someone please tell me where the amplifier is located?
Thank so much.
Jim

2004 XJR Amplifier
Thank you so much Cat Owner Oregon.
I found the amplifier behind the trunk liner on the left side. I paid an auto radio shop $75 to see if their electronics technician can repair it.
The manager figures it is an Alpine unit, although no branding other than Jaguar is on it. Also, because it is using an optical source I can not just plug in any other Alpine unit.
The auto companies sure are greedy! Frankly, I wish they had some real competition. They build these systems to use only custom built components that carry massive mark-ups and are only distributed through their over-priced dealer networks.
Thanks again for your help.

The amp in the X350 is the "same" as the X-Type & facelift S-Type.
I write "same" because they look identical, and have the same connections and work off the D2B Fiber-optic network. They are interchangeable.
I do suspect however, that there might be subtle differences in the tuning of the DSP to suit the different cars. But that is only a guess. The amps for different models have different part numbers, which would only make sense if there were some differences. Buck on the UK forum put the amp from an X-350 in his X-Type & it was fine.
There is one for sale on ebay.co.uk
X Type Jaguar Premium Sound System Amplifier | eBay
I bought mine from this seller, Black Country Jaguar, vouch for them 100%
Note that the amp from the XK is not compatible with X350, X202, X400.
P.S. beware of a seller on ebay.co.uk; J o J a g s, he's got a really bad reputation on the UK forum.
But he's got two X350 amps for sale....before you buy read Jojags Avoid like the black death
