2004 XJR bluetooth options?
I have done the requisite searching it it looks like for the 2004 year the bluetooth option is a hit and miss for the XJR?
When I hit the Phone button I get a message "NO PHONE". When I try to put the codes ##1#*# or ##3#*# absolutely nothing happens. Am I doing something wrong? Should I be trying something else?
Are there any options to install a bluetooth module to the head unit (assuming the option is not there) to allow for seamless bluetooth integration?

I believe bluetooth was an option until 2006
It sounds like you do not have the module.
Do you have a mic on the roof ? (It's on the drivers side of the roof console)
You can add the module (and the mic) to get the functionality. There were a few threads about it here. I would search this forum with the key word "bluetooth"

If you're just looking for a hands free for the phone, it's much easier to install the Jabra Freeway hands free device. It just clips to your visor, works great, you'll find it sold from many places, just Google it. I tried to find a way to utilize the factory Bluetooth, but it was too much work and money and it used Bluetooth v1.0, my new iPhone uses v 4.0, so not worth the effort.

One word of caution though, if you were interested in the FM pass through on the Jabra, that's the one thing that fails on that device. It seems that because the. Radio antenna is part of the rear window, it's too far away for it to work. If i unclip it from the visor and hold it back over the back seat, it works fine. So ,I haven't been able to use that feature, due to the extremely short throw of the FM signal.
