Default 2004 XJR: Front Brake Pad Replacement - Brakes Now Clamping

Greetings!

I recently replaced the front pads on my 2004 XJR. I had the front rotors turned, too. (And this isn't my first brake job.)

After I got it all buttoned up, I noticed it wasn't coasting well. The more I drove, the more I noticed that it was pushing against the brakes. I bled the lines tonight and there was no change. The fluid in the system was nearly as clean as the new fluid.

I did notice that the machining scuffs from the rotor turning were gone on the inside of the passenger front rotor. Clearly this is the side that's pushing when I'm driving.

Any thoughts? I've never had a rotor go bad from a brake change. I've had rubber brake hoses collapse on their own, which causes caliper hangup. Is there some goofy "Jag thing" that's killing me here? Or was I lucky enough to have a rotor go bad at the exact same time as a pad change?

I'd greatly appreciate any advice or tips. Thanks!

I'd pull the offending hub/rotor off and clean the face to make sure she's true when mounted.

when i changed my pads, I was EASILY able to push in the caliper pistons, either one side at a time, or one of the two on one side, and the other one(s) would move out from the caliper. Make sure all of your caliper pistons are moving freely.

No other suggestions, that's all I did for my brembo pad replacements. It sounds like one of your calipers are dragging just a bit.

I concur with H2Oboy, check the calipers to see if one or more pistons are binding

Thanks for the help, folks. One of the four pistons on the caliper was stuck in an extended position. I popped it back into place with a C-clamp and some elbow grease. No problems since.
