Default 2004 XJR-tires?

I have a 2004 XJR with 19" wheels. Any experience as to what brand of tires recommended. Also brake pads. Looks like brakes on this model wear quicker than most. Just got the bill for replacing the rear pads and rotors along with the emergency brakes. Has anyone had experience with Akebono pads?

Thanks

I replaced with Hankook (worst product name ever) V12 evo's, and have been thrilled with them at nearly 10k miles now. Quiet and a smoother ride than the OEM P-zeros, and CHEAP from TireRack

I recommend Hankook and Akebono.
Do a search on brakes and tires in this section and you will find numerous recommendations.

Just replace the rear pads with Akebono. Two different references from repair shops. They put Akebono on all cars they service.

Default Happy with my tire/brake setup

I use the Michelin 19ZRPS2. Whether with the family or alone;-), the tire provides comfort and full control. I did summer season with the All-Season's (19ZRPS2AS)... Never again!

As for the Brembo's, you're right about the pads... and the dust drove me crazy!
I'm trying the Akebono... but I think they don't bite enough... Has anyone tried the EBC pads?

Here in Canada, I can't find any alternative to the Jaguar supplied Brembo disks.
And I am very interested in trying the slotted or drilled variants. Where do I source these?

Keep Well!
Guy.
