Default 2005 Jaguar Super V8 Production Numbers

Today I was filling my recent purchase 2005 Jaguar Super V8. And another Super V8 was there. Same Color, Same Year. What are the chances?

Does anyone know the production number for 2005 Jaguar Super V8s?

Thanks Karl

I don't personally know the numbers, but they are LOW. I'd guess in the hundreds, rather than thousands. This is quite a rare occurrence.

Did you happen to compare VINs? I'd be curious to know how close they are!

I wish I had asked what the Vin was. I had heard that there were only 143. But I wasnt sure.

He had never seen another Super V8 before. We chatted for 20 minutes and compared notes. We both got amazing deals!

Thanks Karl

That's insane! Wish I was there to make it three. From the notes I have, FWIW, in 2005 there were 256 Super V8 models manufactured. 158 of them came to the US. I'm uncertain what the quantity was for Canada but it was a fraction of that I assume. Rest assured, I hope you got that other owner's contact info, because lightning won't strike twice.

Well there is two less in US now. Funny enough mine came from New Jersey and his North Carolina. 1 in a million chance!

What color combos did they offer in the Super V8?

Noted! I actually just acquired a 2006 full size dealer sales brouchure booklet including the color swatches page that I think covers nearly the same as the 2005. Some of the stock photos are the same. I'll try and post the combos soon. I did note in there that 2005 horsepower was officially 390hp and 2006 horsepower was officially 400hp (what changed? I may start another thread if anyone knows). Minor differences I think. Though these differences widened starting in 2007 I believe with the facelifts.

Four of the examples from 2005 right here in this thread! I think there's a few others on this forum with 2005s as well. I wonder how many are really left. There's a website in the UK where you can lookup this stuff but not sure for US or North America in general.

Mine is G20252, built in September, 2003, and licensed in October of the same year.
It's a Super V8 SWB, first owner was Jaguar Italy.
But I believe that there are earlier ones than mine, as I have seen X350 Super V8s advertised with licensing as far back as (I believe) March, 2003, but at least May, 2003.

My Super V8 SWB is G 29675 registered in 2004, cannot remember what month off hand but between beginning of March and end of August though because it was on an "04" plate
