05 xjr inter cooler pump not comming on - pulled pump its ok - cant get to the wires to find voltage will have to try harder any suggestions?
I'm was getting performance code - checked with a newer Snap-On scanner said inter cooler so I pulled and checked but pump ok.

 

Stare at circuit diagram / check fuses, relays, voltages etc.

But first... some tools wrongly look up codes so post the actual code / check in data on the site.

Be aware that many codes have multiple possible causes, listed in the jag docs on this site, but many tools only tell you one or a few of the causes leaving you unaware of the others you ought to check.

 

Do you have the shop manual?
It's mandatory as these cars are very complex.
We NEED the actual code. Please add some details as we are just guessing on the internet.

Now you do know the car has 2 pumps? One for the cooling system the "AUX pump".
Plus a SC IC pump. They look very similar and are located one on top of the other.

Are you sure you changed the correct pump?
I am betting you changed the wrong one. It's happened before.

Go through the following thread, I was getting the same as you so bought the better Bosch 010 pump, fitted but still didn't work. Added the extra earth wire as described in the thread and bingo all working again.
