2005 xj8 rear tie rod part confirmation
Hello all,
Can anyone confirm for me that the rear tie rod at rockauto is compatible with US market cars? The rockauto site indicates that the part is intended for the EU market.
Rockauto lists Alternate/OEM Part Number(s): C2C13835, C2C1802, C2C18419, C2C24305, C2C36985, C2D5993
https://www.rockauto.com/catalog/mor...nid=423&jpid=0
Jagbits lists a similar part with overlapping oem part numbers of C2C36985 C2C24305 C2C13835
Jaguar STABILIZING LINK TIE ROD FOR REAR SUSPENSION - C2D5993-OE
So am I good with the part from rock auto?
Thanks

Victor,
I've had a lot of similar trouble with Rock Auto, who claim that Lemförder has informed them that certain of their suspension components are only valid for EU vehicles. Yet, both Lemförder and Jaguar disagree.
According to the Lemförder suspension catalog, which you can download here...
https://mediaservices.zf.com/Redirec...FzQDaNJAKwU%3D
...the correct Lemförder part number for the rear stabilizing link is 33590 01, which matches the Rock Auto part number. The Lemförder catalog shows the Jaguar part number as C2C36985, and the same part applies to all Jaguar X350s from VIN G00442, regardless of geographic market.
To find Jaguar part numbers, you can download and install the Jaguar Electronic Parts Catalog from this forum (see the thread below for instructions):
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...uctions-48194/
The EPC confirms the Jaguar part number C2C36985, which superseded earlier numbers C2C18419 and C2C24305, which are included in the Rock Auto cross reference list. According to the EPC, the same part number applies to all vehicles, regardless of geographic market.
Since the EPC files are not necessarily current, I always double check part numbers at jaguarmerriamparts.com, the website of the Jaguar dealer in Merriam, Kansas. As it turns out, part number C2C36985 has been superseded again, to part number C2D5993. You can view the parts diagram here:
2005 Jaguar XJ8 Parts - Jaguar Parts Center - Call (800) 510-1401 for Genuine Jaguar Parts and Accessories
All that to show you how you can find and confirm part numbers yourself in the future, and to also assure you that the Rock Auto Lemförder part should work on your car. You may receive an email from Rock Auto claiming the part will not fit your car. Just argue with them and tell them that both Jaguar and Lemförder say that it will, and if necessary send them the link to the Lemförder suspension catalog. Eventually you'll persuade them to ship you the part. The only other problem you may have is that Rock Auto will subsequently inform you that their inventory for their "remote warehouse" was incorrect and the part is out of stock....
Cheers,
Don

Thanks Don B.
RockAuto didn't give me any trouble on the order, and they have sent a shipping confirmation.
On another topic, I see you are a moderator...
I am logging in via FB account. How can I get a screen name, rather than showing my full name on my posts and account? I haven't been able to find that setting in the user CP.

Hi Victor,
As far as I know, you may have to register to the forum again directly from an Internet browser rather than through your FB account so you can use an alias as your Username. I will check with our forum expert and see if there is a work-around.
Cheers,
Don
