Rear and front speakers are common and most dont even notice until the last one goes out. Park aid is a different story. You get a long tone when in reverse for a system fault and the system is shut off. If you dont have operation and the tone is not there then perhaps that sperate speaker is out.

Sue,

I've moved your question from General Tech Help to X350 forum. This is the place to post technical questions about your model.

"then perhaps that sperate speaker is out."

He means the sounder/speaker which is used solely by the Park aid system and is located in the area of the rear parcel shelf.
This can be checked from wiring at a rear light unit.
What happens when you reverse?

Ok so the park aid speaker is working,

You can check the wheel well for water which may have caused corrosion to the module

which is attached to the side of the wheel well but the most likely is failure of one or more sensors.

The sensors are the weak link.

with the car in reverse you can put your ear close to each sensor. if they're working you can hear them clicking rapidly. If not they are bad

I hesitate to disagree with 'the Man' (Brutal), who's advice I closely listen to, but on my 2005 VDP the front and rear parking aid system seems to use the regular stereo speakers.
The warning sound comes from the corner closest to the obstacle - I though it was a pretty neat system !+

If this is true of your car, then the two problems are in fact connected. Most of my Alpine speakers had 'broken' and I did the removal/resoldering trick.
Its pretty well documented on here - Alpine used a crappy solder on the speaker cone.

sorry jeremy. Park aid speakers are seperate. Front is accessed by removing the instrument pack , and the rear by removing parcel shelf.

Well - I use google translate, my English is not very good… I try again!
Yes, door locks and mirrors work.have checked all fuses, no one is faulty.Cannot find door windows over fuse table.Neither in the instruction book or workshop. There is no power up to the relay.Has tried to follow the lead, but it disappears under the carpet under the center console. There are really many wires there and I would like to avoid stripping the cabin altogether. ( I hope this is better!?!?)
