Angry 2006 VDP Transmission Complete Failure 112k miles, trans x350

Bad news last night. While pulling away from a stop sign, heard a pop/clank in the driveline, 100 feet later a big BANG - and no forward, reverse or park gears.... When idling while stopped, just shifting from P to N and back to P makes very lound clanking noise (getting on/off the flat bed tow truck).

Car is at the shop, full diagnosis on Monday. I asked the dealer to change the trans fluid at 60k miles and they said never to do it, it's sealed, and when changed it will cause a failure shortly after that.

Does anyone know a good source for rebuilt or used ZF 6HP26 transmissions?
I did find one for $5k at SP Precision https://spprecision.com/products/zf-...CABEgLfvPD_BwE
I'm guessing the dealer will want a crazy amount of $ for a new one.

We in Northern CA, car is at Nielo Jag Sacramento.
Thanks all !!!

That is bad luck and I feel your pain. I live in Citrus Heights. I have seen transmissions on Craigslist from a place in Rancho Cordova for $1,300. Depending on its mileage that may be a way to go then have your transmission rebuilt. If you belong to the local Jaguar club you may get a discount. from the dealer. (Maybe.)

Does anyone know the Jag p/n for this 2006 VDP transmission?
I see 3 versions on the web, not sure of the differences?
Some list p/n 35259, and 2 others list p/ns ending in C2P2155 or C2P2156.
Any clarity would be appreciated.

Also, there was a recall R525 on TSB 7-31NAS for incorrectly ZF manufactured transmissions. Anyone know what this was about?
Thnanks again!

This company are ZF specialists and are in California:

Genuine ZF Parts

There is an identification plate on the side of the g'box.

Paul who sells used parts in Rancho Cordova is a member of this forum

but I haven't 'seen' him for a while.
