2006 XJ8 - Favor - Brake Job
Hi All,
Sadly I had to get rid my S-Type not long ago and in doing so I gave the JTIS disc to the guy who bought the car. Well, a friend of mine is contemplating having brake work done on his 2006 XJ8 and would like to do it himself if it is anything like doing an S-Type.
Does anyone have the instructions for doing the brakes on a 2006 XJ8?
Many Thanks
T

Still Looking
Thanks for responding Tarheal,
I went back and looked harder this time and still came up empty. There's a lot of info "around" this car but can't seem to find anything where somebody did a 2006 XJ8 (L) and explained what they did (socket sizes, do this, don't do that). I wish I had my JTIS. Anyone out there can give me the specifics of replacing pads on this car. I would be most grateful. Or...anyone in Southeast Mich have a JTIS disc I could borrow?
Thanks

I don't think JTIS will help much. The program is very vague. This is the instruction for changing the pad on a XJ without brembo brakes. 1. Remove both front wheels and tires. 2. Detach the anti-lock brake (ABS) sensor wiring harness from the retaining clips. 3. Rotate the brake caliper upwards. Remove and discard the brake caliper lower retaining bolt. Rotate the brake caliper upwards. 4. Remove the brake pads.
