Excited about learning more about my 2006 XJ8 L. Bought it from a older man who didn't get to drive it at all.

What should I get looked at first? I am having trouble trying to link my phone to the BT.

3K miles on it??...Don't get anything looked at except the view out the windshield. What color?

Black, black. Bought it from the owner of a Honda dealership. None of the guys there know about the car so I a looking for some tips - how to find out exactly what is in it (little nice touches) and how to play with the toys.

Bought it yesterday and already have 100 miles on it. Drives great!

 

My color! My 350 is black/black. This car makes you look like "you've arrived" wherever you go!

Do you have owner's manuals? If not they're available in pdf. If you meant the Honda guys don't know the mechanical end of the car, KEEP THEM AWAY! Drive it until someting doesn't seem right and come back here. Sharp guys on this site will keep you in the "correct lane".

At 3K you simply don't need anything, unless the car has sat a very long time not running, then maybe an oil/filter change. Sweet engine, huh?

Hey...I just got mine too. 2006 with 24K miles. I just hooked up my Bluetooth phone.Did you look in the owners manual? You have to put in a code in on the menu. Do you have the nav unit?

Congrats on your purchase. When I got my 2004 XJ8 I discovered you can call Jaguar corporate and they will tell you what options the car was ordered with versus the standard equipment (to answer your toys question), as well as the dealer service history (not that yours would have much history). I think there are links here on the forums to the owners manuals which are the best place to start familiarizing yourself with the car and its myriad features.

Whew - drove from Irvine, CA to Palm Springs. Got my XJ8 L up to 105. Seems like to was riding eaven smoother at the higher speeds.


The engine is awesome - great accelleration and great handling!

 

Congrats on your purchase. I made the plunge as well. I just got an 07 Super V8 and have never driven a better car! It has 22,000 miles and is Silver/Black. Wish there was a better way to plug in an IPOD, but I guess you can't have everything. Acceleration is awesome and makes driving to work a pleasure.
