2006 XJ8L- TPMS system warning in dash board

I purchased the car in 2016 and I had this warning in the dash board display telling me to check my spare tie pressure and I thought is just a preventive thing in case u go for a long ride.
didnt have any yellow lite in the dash yet but it came up when my alternator and my battery went bad and had to replace them.
I ve been driving around with yellow lite trying to reset the system but nothing happened . went to Costco and the guy checked em all telling me he doesn t get any reading from any TPMS.
well that sounded odd but I needed 2 new tires so I got 2 new sensors as well to have em replaced .
the tire shop didnt check anything , put the new tires and the new sensors turn out to be bad .
didn t know what to do and told em to put stem valves for now .now the other yellow warning sign with a low pressure tire came up .
save one of the old ones to be able to buy the rite ones this time to match the car specs, my mistake to let the other one go in the trash thinking that was bad.
finally got a great idea and got myself a TPMS diagnostic & service tool for little bit over $100 . Autel TS408
next day , big surprise!
the old TPMS s were good including the one in my hand that I saved from the shop but the spare tire sensor one was the bad one .
got on TPMS.com and the guys were very nice and recommended me the rite stuff for a decent price $60 a piece compare to $100 what the shop was asking .
got 2 new ones ,went back to the shop and told them the whole story and they agreed to put the new ones on the new tires and the old one on the spare for $20 since they threw my good one in the trash.
the tire sign in the dash was gone when I got in the car and the yellow warning and the display notification went out in less than 10 miles after the system reset.
best thing to do , find a good tool and make sure you know what part is bad .
happy to see my dashboard nice and clear again.
hope this helps
