My apoligies, I would have preferred my first message be in the new member forum with pictures. Waiting on Mina new style mesh grille and lower mesh grill before posting pics which arrives tomorrow.
Anyway, I have 40k on the odometer and noticed in the last two days my temp gauge has barely got above the 1/4 mark. I thought it was not operating normal temp wise and today it threw a CEL. Autozone confirmed the CEL was a low coolant temp.
Picking up new tstat tonight at Autozone, didn't have time to wait and will be attempting to install tonight. Slightly nervous aboud doing so.
Three Questions:
Is Tstat on the driver side of the housing secured by 3 bolts?
Does the entire assembly have to come off (secured by the torx bolts)?
Anything I need to be aware of before attempting?
Thanks!

This was completed recently on my S/C, here are some pics.

I tried to cover the belts with some plastic so they do not become bathed in coolant and become squeakers. This was mildly successful.
Enjoy!

Excellent, your pics help so much. Interesting enough my housing bolts are stadard bolts and the star bolts (passenger side of assembly) hold the entire assembly to the supercharger assembly which was causing me confusion on which side tstat was on from other posts. Must have changed them in 06 I guess.
I am thrilled to see the entire assembly does not have to be removed!
Thank You!

Thanks again, the removal and installation took literally less than 30 minutes. Didn't seem to get any air on the bleed process and temp is now normal. Only problem is the Tstat from Autozone wasn't correct, I have a two piece Tstat for some reason and Napa/AutoZone and OReily didn't even list the two piece part. Instead of a $14, I paid $96 and $16 for a seal at the local dealership this morning. Hopefully next repair I can wait a few days and order from Jagbits or Coventry for a discount!

I took the thermostat housing off of my 2006 Super V8 and was also dismayed to find a 2 piece thermostat instead of the one piece that I bought ahead of time at the auto parts store. None of the major parts suppliers seem to have the right part. There is a place named nextday auto that lists a stant part that has the right looking picture next to it:
2006 Jaguar Super V8 Engine Coolant Thermostat (Stant)
But if i go to the stant website it brings up a one piece part for the super V8. This 2 piece appears to me to be the same thermostat used in the XK8. If i try to bring up the right part for the Xk8 on stant's website it returns no parts.
ugh.
