Hey guys, I just bought a 2007 jaguar xj8 vandenplas. Its a really nice car, but I am having issues with calibrating the suspension. The rear suspension is working good and I am able to inflate and deflate with my scan tool. The front however is giving me issues. When I go to calibrate the height, it just stays at leveling air suspension and it will raise the front suspension to the max height and stay there, it never gets to where I am supposed to measure the height and enter it into the scan tool. When I go to deflate the front, nothing happens. I cant drive it when the front is fully inflated, the ride is just not good. I am suspecting the front height sensor because the measurement stays at -0.2 inches whether the front is fully deflated or if its inflated. Does anyone know what that measurement should be?

 

It does sound like the front ride height sensor has failed or maybe is loose. You need to remove it and check it for continuity and also movement of the sensor arm.

 

Yes the sensor was out of place. The bracket it was on was bended to the side, so I had to bend it back into position and connect it back to the control arm. I will definitely check it for continuity. Thanks.
