Hey guys, I just bought a 2007 vanden plas and I am having am issue with the rear driver side door lock. I need to get a new key fob since the one that came with car has been submerged in what looks like coffee or soda and does not work at all. So I have been locking the doors with the driver side key hole. The problem I am having is that the rear driver side door tries to lock and unlocks. You can hear the lock mechanism trying to lock, but than it just opens. Has anyone experiences this issue before? I thought I would get some of your thoughts before I order a now lock motor for it. Thanks in advance.

 

I think the door latch mechanism has all the bits built into it, I dont think there is a separate lock motor.

 

It may be caused by a problem with the cable between the interior handle and the actuator.
I suggest that you need to dismantle interior of door to investigate the fault.
