Default 2007 super8 air suspension

Hi I am new to the group, I have a 2007 xj super8 with an air suspension issue. Did front brakes and looks like passenger side air shocks blow and car dropped or they were going. I ordered arnott air shock however is there a procedure to follow disabling system before I jack up rear of car passenger side. Also do you need to change front shocks in pairs.
Appreciate some guidance.

Welcome to the forum chuckie,

I've copied this question from your Intro to X350 forum. Members here with the same model will be able to help.

Although the Arnott unit may be a simple bolt-on, it is not the same as the original Bilstein unit, so the damping characteristics may be different, and it does not have the CATS variable damping. So probably best to replace the pair.

Is there nobody in the US doing replacement air spring diaphragms now ? Arnott used to, but gave it up.

I have a couple rebuilt sir springs from
Rebuild Master Tech. They carry a lot of parts and are helpful.
They are rebuilt and will ship you a shock and wait for the core.

So Arnott air shock has no CATS - does that mean dash error message will come up all the time - air suspension fault. I am in New Jersey and inspection will fail for dash light symbols and error codes. Can these air suspension messages be disconnected /stopped ???? Also is leveling from front to back in involving the sensors and do I need to disconnect battery before jacking up car to replace air shock ???

Default Arnott Designed New Struts

Arnott designed new struts include a resister which would turn off any dashboard lights. They are an excellent alternative for aging airsuspensionsystems because they provide the luxury, comfort and auto leveling of air springs butreplace the older auto damping shock with a brand newshock custom valved to provide a great ride at a more affordable price.

Here is a short video from ImportCar Editor Andrew Markel on parts of the internal damper of a Jag Air Strut that can wear out. http://ow.ly/ykfw308cWPn
