Trying to remove the LH valve cover on my 2007 XJ8R. I've got 13 of the 14 bolts holding the cover off,
but the last is giving me fits. It's the farthest aft on the bottom row. Very inaccessible!
Does anybody have any wisdom on how to get a socket or wrench on this?

Stuff rags around the stub before reinstalling and a magnet to fish the nut. Looks like a pain to put back too.

 

Also, I have found that stuffing the socket with 'blue-tack' (you know, the sticky, rubbery plasticiny stuff) holds the nut or bolt sufficiently to get it in place?

I use it all the time to keep nuts/bolts in my socket when accessing inaccessible places?
