2007 xjr 10k miles
Hello everyone, I'm new and kinda naive about Jags. I did own a 1999 xjr = money pit! lol
I have a chance to buy a 2007 xjr. Silver black interior. The owner says it only has 10k miles on it but it has a rebuilt title.
The problem with the car is nearly all dash lights are lit, it goes only into limp mode and the airbags will not inflate.
I wonder if this is a electrical problem (bad connection) or ecm problem? or?
The question is anyone thinks it's a good deal? Should I walk away from it? Would this be an insurance lost, for the rebuilt title? He doesn't know since there is no damage to the car.
The owner says he bought it this way with the intention of fixing it but has not touched it since he bought it.
I just need an opinion on this and maybe a solution if anyone knows of one.
Oh the price $4500 obo.
sorry earlier post, posted in wrong area

Don't be in a rush. The car isn't going anywhere. It sounds like a lemon so no one is going to steal it from under you. If they do, god bless them.
You need the proper diagnostic equipment on it which is Jaguar's SDD software. You're trying to determine if a stored and salvaged Jaguar is worth anything. Don't do it without due diligence. $4500 seems to high for that kind of risk imo.
BTW, your 99 was a money pit, the X358's aren't cheap to own either. Parts are expensive, they have a long list of failure points. If it were already up and running you should set aside $1500 - $3000 per year on maintenance and upkeep. Don't let anyone tell you different. If they do, they are feeding you a line. Most guys try to save on this forum by DIY.
