2008 XJ Satellite Radio Question

Just bought a 2008 SuperV8 with rear entertainment. Love the car!!!

I would like to get Satellite radio. I scroll thru the selections and there is no choice in the car for Jagaur Satellite like the manual describes. (controlling it with the factory radio)

I am only assuming that the dealer is going to charge big money to install it. I used the search and found people installing them in the ashtray, that looks fine with me. I have a question on the antenna.

I have a fin on the roof of the car, is that for the nav only?? Or is that for the satellite radio aswell. If so how can I plug into it??

The antenna's on roof's of cars are usually for satelite radio, with that said I'm assuming your car is equipped with it. Thats where my advice ends, wish I could help more.

I'm not sure this helps you, but on 2006 VDP the satelite radio in installed behind the trunk panel next to the RR taillight. It is installed in the former ashtray location and was done quite nicely.

I always assumed the roof mounted antenna was for satelite but I certainly could be wrong!

When Jaguar tells me that I have a car(2006 XJ8)that was wired(gave them my VIN #) for Bluetooth and I do have the speakeres installed overhead, does this mean that I can pair my phone or do I have to have a module put into the car.

unless it came from the factory with sat radio you cant add it to the 08-09 xj8 you can add the 04-07 system that goes in place of the ash try as a non approved accessory
