I have the none-Alpine stereo in my 08 XJ. For years I know it has not been possible to replace the stereo unit. Now I am seeing these units show up everywhere online. Has anyone installed one and if yes what was your expert like?

 

I did install similar unit in my 2004 VDP.
It is working OK; There is no manuals. I like it more than original navigation because it is an Android system, compatible with my Android phone. It is possibel to install simcard to make it work without phone.
Negative:
Sun reflections can make screen unusable even with antireflection screen.
Radio is not working with stock antenna I need to find suitable powered antenna.
Every now and then bluetooth looses connection.
You will loose car settings interface. Set it BEFORE you remove stock system.
The prices in your screenshot are way below what I paid two years ago.
