5 minor changes that have impact
I've owned my XJ for six months. Here are a few things i've done to increase my enjoyment. Maybe you have more to share?
1- Stereo. I have the alpine system and have found from searching here to go to the Stereo menu and press the 'DSP' button. Move the sound to 'Front' which will add more bass. Next, press the 'Mode' button by the CD player and move 'Subwoofer' all the way to max setting.
2- Bluetooth fm transmitter. Instead of ripping out the existing navigation unit this simple and super cheap plug works great. Newer ones even have a USB plug for jump drives that play your music library.
3- Leather treatment. I've always used Lexol, but went a different route since the leather in the XJ is different (in a good way). I choose 'Connolly' Hide Care. It is wonderful. Made the seats softer and added moisture to the center console which had kind of dried-out and looked pale.
4- Logo screen. Learn how to change the navigation screen to the Jaguar logo screen. This goes back to the Bluetooth module so when you are streaming music, you have a nice logo to look at. Plus, its black background is nice on the eyes at night.
5- Cupholder. Order the newer cupholder which came in the X358. The larger holder is much needed with todays super size drinks. Plus, it's NEW so no scuff marks.

Thanks!
1. Stereo. I'm an old bugga, I have the treble turned to max to compensate for hearing loss. Boomba is for boy racers.
2. Agreed. I bought a Bluetooth transmitter from China for next to nothing.
3. Leather treatment - thanks! My driver's seat is slightly "sticky", not the other seats. Dunno why. Standard leather products do nothing so always looking for tips.
(Turps gives your wiping rag an exact color-match...oh never mind didn't mean to give anyone nightmares )
4. Replace the Nav screen with the Logo? But the leaper will always be telling you to turn left...
5. My cupholder is an X358. And if anything's tight the whole cupholder comes out. The small one is useless and the large one...do you know how much time I've spent in Briscoes (like Kmart)...only a certain Thermos Flask 0.5L will sort of work.
And it's not the only car brand. I swear all these cup-holder designers are young boy racer types who only drink Coca-Cola cans or something. Thank you! I feel better now.
Cheers!

I went for Jagdroid
I went for the Jagdroid upgrade for my stereo unit as it keeps everything looking completely factory with no additional plug in bits to cigarette lighter socket but adds android, your choice of navigation app, music playing app, etc etc etc and the steering wheel buttons control the android music and also have front and rear parking cameras added into the system, look jagdroid up on Facebook the system is well worth it and Ben who creates it from your old headunit delivers to countries outside of the UK as well.

For the cupholder, try a few small drops of glue to hold it in place. When you need to remove it (if ever) the small drops should break away allowing you to remove it.
