Although it is not in the service schedule, it might be prudent to get the transmission fluid and filter changed, plus the seal at the TCM input socket. This seal is a known issue on early cars, and the leakage can cause problems with the electric connection in there. Later seals are improved as I understand it. Of course if yours isn't leaking then leave it alone !
PS
The fluid and filter is NOT cheap. A proper Jaguar specialist will flush fluid through so as to ensure the maximum amount of fluid is replaced, but this inevitably involves some wastage.

Thanks. I'm having the service done at our local Jaguar dealer so I'll ask about the transmission fluid change and filter. I know it's more expensive but I learnt my lesson recently where my local "mechanic" changed the pinion seal on my 92 XJS, over tightened the nut and I had to have the diff rebuilt. The supreme irony was the the pinion seal still leaked after the so called fix.
