Default AC blower motor

Hi, I am a new user and I check the FAQ's and looked in the existing threads before I made this post. I have a 2008 XJ Super V8 with 120,000 miles. I have owned it for about 5 trouble free years and put 60,000 mile on it in that time. About 4 days ago, I started it and the front AC blower motor did not turn on. I tried turning the AC on and off, changing settings, turned the car off and back on and still no front AC. The rear AC works just fine. I did a little research on the web and it pointed to the blower motor resistor as a likely culprit. I ordered a new blower motor resistor and I am waiting for it to arrive. This morning, about 3 minutes into my commute, the front AC fan started blowing again. It worked for the entire 45 min commute. Anyone experience this before? Any ideas? Blower motor, resistor, AC module, other???? I know it did not just magically repair itself. And it is too hot in Houston, TX to not have AC. thank you in advance for your help.

Default

Failure of the blower control module was once fairly common until the cooling fins were made longer. It happened to me with my previous X350 and a new one cured the problem. They aren't (or weren't !!!) expensive. About 20 mins to swap it out.
