AC compressor and condenser replacement
Hello chaps, its been a while since I've posted, been really busy with work. I have finally decided to bite the bullet and ordered an AC compressor and condenser from rock auto. The compressor comes prefilled with 3oz of oil.
Anyone know how much oil to add of any? Also any tips on replacing either of these are welcomed. This Texas heat is starting to get here.

Dump the oil from your existing compressor into a graduated cylinder. Then add that much (minus 3 oz of course) to your new compressor. Be sure you add the right type of oil. Well gang, I replaced the compressor and condenser. Now another problem the compressor doesn't seem to be kicking in. I can only charge 130 grams of refrigerant vs the required 650. The system was evacuated and held vacuum. I pulled the electrical connector to the compressor and checked with a test light with engine on and climate control set to low. I don't seem to be getting any electricity to the connector. Any thoughts on where this wire goes to so I can trace? Our am I missing something from my lack of sleep?

Silly me I forgotten the compressor electrical connection is pwm so I doubt that a light would work here. I pulled the air filter box to look at the pressure sensor connection and seems to be degrees fine. Pulled and replugged to be safe but doesn't rule out that it could have randomly failed. Previously I have replaced the expansion control valve and am ruling it out. Nothing else had been replaced other than compressor and condenser and descent bag. Sigh. Always something.

Finally figured it out!
The new compressor had a faulty solenoid valve!
I had to assume that the compressor was receiving the pwm signals to go since the condenser fan would run on high when the ac was set to on in the climate control, which made me believe that the pressure sensor was working.
I switched out the solenoid valve from my old compressor and voila she came on and charged to 650 grams of refrigerant.
Now, the low side is reading slightly high but she is cooling way better than before. I'll let the compressor break in and recheck the pressures.
Honestly I don't want to mess with the A.C. anymore and just live with the low side as is, butt we'll see.

Depending on ambient temperature outside when filling (I'm going to presume at least 80 to 85 degrees F your low side pressure is pretty much on the money!
High side pressure looks within range too.
