The blower motor is under the glove box and they do squeal, at least my 86 did. That said, the blower motor just pushes the air into the cabin.
As Fraser notes, the system is complex and uses multiple controls. Your symptoms are almost impossible to diagnose. I suggest you get a manula and read through how the climate control system works.
Somewhere along the way, your system is telling itself it's too cold in the cabin, adjust by closing the A/C off and open the heater core.
There are too many variables to walk through unless you have an understanding of the components and their usage/ timing.
Sorry, I'm being much help but once you read through the manual, you'll understand what I mean.

I suppose I could let a bit of Freon out but that would be shot-gunning it. The squealing noise was definitely not the blower motor but sounded more like an actuator motor trying to move the door but then stopped and so did the squealing. I'm not sure which blend door is on the RH side of the console just under the glove box but when I get a chance I will drop the access panel and poke around a bit. I'd bring it to the dealer but the closest one is 3 hours away. The car is now on the south Mississippi coast near Gulfport and I don't know of any good Jag shops there. I know one thing, I'm going to fix it or get use to driving in 100 deg. weather.

Change the receiver/dryer and the TX valve then regas the system
Either or both could be blocked but anyone that know how to read the AC gauges correctly will be able to tell you this.
A/C systems are fairly simple things and can be easily repaired

I had to replace both on the Series II and the TX on the magna. Even though the Magna only needed a new TX I also replaced the receiver/dryer as you should always replace this when charging as this is the filter for the system
Cheers
