Default Added mesh grill to 2004 XJ8 - you like?

After reading some other inspiration from XJ owners, I decided to update my grill and lower vent with the stainless mesh look. It was a straightforward job (2hrs) and I do like the results.

edited:Got the upgrades from Mina Gallery. http://www.minagallery.com/
Bundle was $288 including shipping.

looks great! I'm curious... why did it take 2 hours to install? I'm guessing the upper was relatively easy.. it was only 15 minutes on my 98'.. Is the 04 just as simple... Did you have to remove a lot on the lower bumper to install the lower mesh?

Yes the install was easy on upper part. Just 2 bolts and remove the existing units (all plastic tabs), install new mesh and snap back the plastic wind deflectors to hold the mesh in tight. That last part was not explained in the instructions but I figured it out.

The bottom was easy as well, but as you said, I did remove all the of the existing plastic bumper fascia, then I masked off the area and sprayed black plaint to hide the bumper parts from showing. I wasn't completely happy with the screw fastening approach they include but it turned out OK.

Did the "Mesh Grill" also and improved the front end looks totally. I was not sure about the lower vent mesh , but after seeing yours I may order one too. Suddenly winter here in Milwaukee. It will have to wait until spring.

I really like the looks of those mesh grills.

However, because of the very fine, close "weave" do u think it might restrict airflow some? Would probably only be noticeable in very hot conditions …

Looks great. I just bought the lower mesh insert. Anyone have instructions for removing the original black insert (between the fog lamps)?
