Default Aftermarket controller for Air Suspension

Beacause of the trouble with my 04 VandenPlas air suspension I am considering two options:

1. Change it all out for coilovers.
Pro. No leaky airbags
Easier to maintain

Cons: No load leveling
No stability control
Costly in the short run.
Harsher ride?

2. Junk the current ASM and replace it with an aftermarket unit.
Pro: Simpler system totally controllable by me
Cheapest route
Cons: Keeping the car happy so you don't get a pile of error messages.
Loss of stability control.

What say ye all?

Where can you get an aftermarket unit? I might do the same, getting tired of the front end lowering when it is cold out.

My first choice would be retaining the air ride with an aftermarket compressor and controller.

Has anyone actually installed the coilovers?

If I did use the aftermarket system, does anyone know the detailed procedures for silencing the inevitable failure messages?

If you buy the aftermarket coil over system, they tell you how to defeat the warning systems.

Anyone? I don't want to have to buy the system to find that I don't like their work around of the computer msgs.

We asked why coilovers werent fitted to the X350 at a recent X350 seminar at Jaguars Castle Bromwich UK factory.Due to the lightness of the aluminum there isnt enough rebound. You would ruin your car.

What a crock!!! You adjust the spring rate to the car. I have a bridge in Brooklyn I want to sell.

I interpret the silence as "no one knows". I asked the folks selling them but they didn't answer. What is the big secret?
