Unhappy Aftermarket Radio

Hello I was wiring aftermarket radio into my 2004 XJ8 and when i wired all the wires there was no sound coming out the speakers. I double checked all the wiring and everything. Radio works perfectly but there is not sound going to the speakers.

I had put back my OEM radio for now.

Any suggestions ?

Did you use a wiring kit or did you wire directly to the speaker? What did you use as a radio kit? I would start by just directly wiring everything and go from there... Good luck!

Need more info on how you integrated it. Could be several reasons.

So did you connect the pre-out tot he factory amps in the trunk or did you wire directly to the speakers? These cars use a D2B network so if something in the chain is missing it may cause other things not to work.

The easiest way to change out the factory system with the least amount of problems, is to wire the new headunit amp outs directly to the speakers and or replace the factory amps too.

Question

No idea what a D2B network is. If possible I would really like to use the factory amplifier and continue to use all the speaker wiring. Is there aftermarket adapters to allow use of the existing wiring and amp? Any other recommendations?

I presently have the standard radio and the display is not working, although the radio continues to function. My options are to purchase a used radio or take the big step to upgrade to GPS, Sat and all the latest.

any comments or guidance would be appreciated for my XJR
