Went to replace the supercharger oil today.
I need to remove the air intake pipe on top of the supercharger.to get access to the drain plug
Never done this before, do you need to loosen both jubillee clips at the throttle body end of the intake pipe or just the top one?
Do you just pull it off?
Had a good yank at it but it didn't seem to want to budge?
Any help appreciated
You should only need to take the plastic resonator off then you can get access to the fill/drain plug. I spent ages trying to get my plug out wondering why the correct Allen key wouldn't fit only do discover some clown in the past had slightly damaged it. A small file fixed it.
I took off the resonator OK but don't seem to have enough room to turn the Allen key without it hitting the intake pipe and the front bracket that supports the intake pipe..
So I got a long handled allen key and bent the lever arm out to clear the end of the air intake pipe. Bit fiddly but got the drain plug out.
Sucked out the old oil, yuck what a smell from the old oil.
Sorry to join the party late, but for future readers who may want to consider a different method of removing the supercharger oil plug, I used a 3/16 inch Allen bit (the correct size - the plug is not metric as we might assume). Since all of my Allen sockets are metric, I taped a 3/`6 in. bit into a 1/4 inch socket and used a flexible joint and long extension. With the ratchet well away from the tangle of hoses, it was easy to apply all the torque necessary to remove the drain plug. The first time I tried to reinstall the drain plug I dropped it, of course, so I used an extensible magnet to retrieve the plug and to et it started in the hole:
