Default Air strut change. ? correct procedure to get the front struts up to proper height?

Hi, after doing battle with my 05 XJR suspension, I caved in and bought a new set of Arnott front and rear air struts for the car. My mechanic has put the struts in and the rear struts have inflated but the front ones are still down. He's tried calibrating the system several times without success (it just gives a "failed calibration" message on the diagnostic system computer, but no other error codes). Can I check what are the correct steps that we need to take to get the front air struts back up after an air-strut replacement as there are no details in the technical manuals that we've gone through so far and we're a bit uncomfortable with the "drive around for a bit until the suspension system wakes up" technique. We'll do that if there's no other choice but I'd like to find out what steps we missed to correct the situation. Thanks for your help.

I may be wrong, but I think that you may need the dealers computer to recalibrate.

Thanks, my mechanic has the standard Jaguar servicing software / interface as far as I know. Would there be anything else that he would need?

The step you missed, to bypass having to do a calibration, was to return the suspension to the same height level (via jack stands, cinderblocks, etc.) when you reattached the battery cable as when you disconnected the battery cable. It is also possible your mechanic has hyper-extended the height sensors, damaging them in the process.
