Default Air Suspension

2005 Jaguar XJ8 Sovereign

The car displays a VEHICLE TOO LOW fault in the message center. The scan shows a PLAUSIBILITY error. Checked all the fuses. Replaced the relay(R1) and the compressor. The fault remains, the compressor does not function.

I spent close to 6,000 euro at Bradleys in Galway proir to this, problem disappered for about 2 weeks and then started appearing intermittently again.

I would appreciated any assistance as to what to do next.

You seem to have spent an awful lot of money on something that is normally fairly easy to diagnose and fix.

Normally a "Reservoir plausibility error" relates to the compressor wearing out, but could also be telling you there is a leak somewhere.

I have attached the DTC codes for the chassis

Do you mean that the compressor is not running or not producing air pressure?

Just had enough of similar replacement of individual parts wearing out in system. Just popped a grand for some Strutmaster coilovers. I’ll report back on the results as I think I’ll be putting them on this weekend.

Paul,
If you compressor isn't running and you have replaced the compressor and relay, then the next logical steps would be:

1. Check fuse F6.

2. Make sure you have a good connection from your compressor to ground. Make sure pin one of your air suspension relay socket goes to ground as well.

3. Connect 12 volts to pin 5 of your air suspension relay socket to see if your compressor turns on.

I have been running Strutmasters coil-overs for the past year with no issues. I must not be a suspension connoisseur because I could not detect any appreciable differences from air to coil overs.
