@ 04XJ8, good question. well i never looked any arnot kit or the price based on the many threads that are through out this forum, on how people were unhappy with the end results. also the recalls made to the kit i didn't want this potential headache so i looked for other conversions and rebuild kits. i stumbled upon the bilstein kit and the user reviews were (tho not many) positive. it just so happens i get my 2 jags serviced at motor cars and that was who provided the kit. i didnt know at the time that it was solely their kit. they also have a xjr shop car that has the kit. they let me drive it to see how it felt if a conversion is what i decided on. also it wasn't but just a few days ago after doing further research i learned that arnot used bilstein for the recall and the new kit thats now available.

@ fraser 1. since having the kit i haven't packed the trunk of the car and had no more than 4 people at one time so i wouldn't know how the lights will adjust but i will report back when that time comes. the lights do however adjust now to the road changes.

2. CATS is no longer supported, and no the springs are not switchable. i did see one kit that had a manual system that by a twist on the shock/spring assembly like many sport cars you can harden or soften up the ride with a few clicks.

If you look at the PDF on the arnot website you are supposed to unplug the computer and that disables the messages. I have not done it myself.

Unplug the brain behind the rear seat. No more messages.

Talking shock conversion for 2008 XJ8 Vanden Plas?

I have a 2008 XJ8 Vanden Plas, the shocks have always been a little squirly since I got the car.

I had it in the shop for this when it only had 30K miles. The shocks have always seemed to ride good, but after parking the car, sometimes an hour later and sometimes 10 minutes later, the shocks would make noise, and then the car would drop down a few inches. One time I came back to my car and it had dropped so low that the front bumper was sitting on the concrete curb and I had to drive off it and scratch up the bottom of the fiberglass bumper.

lately the shocks are making noise and I've been through this with a 1992 jaguar, so I know its only a matter of time before they are done.

I called Motorcars LTD and their kit is only for 2004-2006, the quote, "problem years of the suspension system" ! HAHA

does anyone know where to get a kit for 2008 or if the 2004-2006 kit will fit?

Thanks

tkeeling,
I also provided a comment in your other thread about this topic. In my comment I failed to mention that earlier this year I sent an email directly to Motor Cars Ltd about the issue with error codes on 2008-09 cars. The reply I received was not a clear yes or no that I was hoping for. As I am not in need of making a repair now or at the time of the email, I didn't continue the email discussion. Perhaps you can get a clear response from Motor Cars. And one last thought, I was leaning toward Motor Cars over Arnott mainly because Motor Cars seems to have more experience with Jags and Land Rovers. Keep us all posted.

Default motorcars ltd

I called MotorCars LTD and they told me that their air suspension kit WOULD NOT FIT my 2008 car.

Thanks for the replies!
