air suspension fault
#4
If the car seems to have correct ride height but ride seems harder than usual, you will probably find one of the fault codes is C2303. This is an indication of the air compressor starting to wear and hence taking too long to recharge the reservoir. I had it on my last X350 (now on my 2nd), and a new compressor was a complete cure. In fact the new compressor took me from 2010 and 35k miles to 2016 and 115k when I part-exed it for a Sovereign, and still working OK. I was told late last year when talking about the air suspension to an ex-Jaguar tech that early compressors failed rather quickly and later ones were better. However your car is a 2005, so maybe you can tell us what miles are on the car bearing in mind is is now 12 years old.

my Jag has 89000 miles, and I tried reading the codes with a reader and told me that P1111 was ok. This is the only code that was pulled.
Today I noticed that the left side is higher than the right side to both tires. Does this mean that new shocks are needed? And if so where can I get them 'cheap'?

Yesterday I got the dreaded "Air Suspension Fault" message. I didn't notice anything different about how my car rode though. After a short lunch I got the same message as soon as I started my car which lead me to believe it really wasn't suspension related. I did some research and there is a tech bulletin on how to diagnose the issue (see link). Anyway, the first step is to do an ignition On/Off twice to clear the code. I did this and the offending message went away.
