Air suspension issues-Strange one, unless you like jacked up hot rods
I'm figuring I am going to need a REAL diagnosis such as hooking up to an SDD however I figured Id run it by you all.
My new old xjr has had a few electrical gremlins pop up, or so it seems. The air ride issue light had been coming on for a few months now and I figured it was a weak pump as the car drove fine and was level. I bought a rebuild kit, yet to be installed. Well last week I was driving and the car felt REAL weird. I get out and the rear end was WAY up in the air. At some point it went back down. Since then its been happening often. Occasionally the right rear seems higher than the left. Today I figured Id take a look in the trunk to check out the air tank/ valve block. While in there the valve block clicked and the rear started to go down. I was looking for loose burnt wires or anything suspect. Throughout my time there and not coinciding with any "wiggle" test ,the block would click here and there. Even when not touching anything. Having another xjr that has absolutely now issues with the air ride all of this was strange.
Has anyone experienced anything similar? could their be a valve block electronic issue? I did also check my rear sensor and at least it didn't fall off or anything. This car is driving me batty. Ive also checked resistance at all grounds and they seem ok so for now, ive ruled that out.
Help?

I would bet there's been water in the system, and the exhaust port in the compressor is rusty. That vent solenoid is the only outlet for air from the system, and if it won't open, the only way the car can lower is by leaking.
When I removed my compressor to install the rebuild kit, the "dryer" section was actually a water tank. I went ahead with the rebuild, cleaned rust out of the compressor passages, and replaced the desiccant beads, but the system still never worked right. I'm sure there was water damage throughout, so I bailed and put on coilovers.
I know everyone raves about how good the air suspension is, but I've never experienced working air suspension on any car over ten years old, and it's just too expensive to keep up when things fail.
