Air Suspension Question-Cant Start Car
Ive had one of my XJR's sitting for over a year. It slowly leaked out the air in the bags over that time. Issue is the fuse for my ECU keep popping and I cant start the car (why its sitting). I pulled the ECU out and the fuse still blows....I havent the time to dig into this so I planned on getting it towed. However its too low.
So the question. Anyway to lift the car without starting it?
Thanks All!

Yes, that is the power supply (Batt +) of the ECU, if that fails not much works . This is certainly a ground fault, but you can find it. Starting from the front distribution fuse box connector EC40 (8 pin, black) brown red cable with two more plugs to the ECU connector, pin 22. There should be continuity to ground to be measured.
I do not know if the air suspension modules without communication to the ECU with SDD can be triggered, you would have to try.
good luck

You could lift the car by putting pressured air into you airbags by opening the hose close to the suspensions.
This would also require valves to keep the air in the bag.
If SDD can talk to airsuspension, you can also open valves to raise the car. ( I remember it was two buttons raising front and raising back.)
You need pressure in the reservoir which is located under the spare wheel. If your compressor doesn't start, you could also blow pressured air into a hose here.

Another vote for possibly powering up the compressor externally like Wingrider suggested
Not sure it would work so it's just a guess. Tough spot to be in.
Let's hope it is a ground issue and as you probably already know those ground studs will shear off if you just look at them! Very tender parts. Just screwing the nut on and off the stud can easily twist the stud right off the car. If possible hold the threaded part while you get the nut loose.
I have replaced a number of ground studs and use a cut down stainless steel bolt/screw to replace the very weak factory studs. Now it's a strong connection and you can properly tighten the ground wires.
Don't forget you can easily run a temporary ground wire too. Just to troubleshoot your problem.
Do you know where the ground studs are? There are a number of them and fairly well hidden.
