Default Airbagfailure

Hello,
I just bought a LHD X350 from 2003 with a airbaglight on.
Reads fault code B2295 and a flash code 23
What can cause this problem ?

Hi Alex, the error code relates to the side airbag on the passenger side. Either the airbag unit itself is the problem or the cable/plug wiring to it.

JLR Dealership has a special tool that, attached to the wiring plug, determines whether the side airbag unit is OK. If this is the case, the electrical connection must be checked.

Thanks Fritz, where is the side airbag located ? Is it in the passengers seat ? or in the pillar

The side airbag is located on the outside of the backrest. The saddler probably knows how to get there.

But i would first remove the seat and check the cables and plugs.

The side airbags do not contain an explosive charge but rather compressed gas. Even after the fault has been fixed, it is usually necessary to delete the DTC from the memory in order to get the warning lamp off.

Tonight i took the seat out and removed the side airbag. Saw nothing strange in the wiring. Cleaned all conections and was planning to order a new side airbag. Put it all back together and mounted the seat back. At my surprise the light went out ! Did not even have to remove fault codes !
thanks for the help !!!

Sometimes it is enough if a plug has an increased contact resistance and therefore the proofing signal does not come back in the expected range during the system check. Plugging and unplugging it several times can then eliminate the error.

Often a single time will do the trick.
