What is billed as a 2008 SuperV8, BRG, 124k miles, $7,300 just appeared on Facebook Marketplace in Manassas, Va. near me. The badging, however, appears to say Vanden Plas. Driver’s seat at a minimum could stand some leatherique cleaner, and there’s a low coolant warning. Billed as 2 owners. Looks like someone’s flipping it and not sure what they have. I’ve asked a few questions but not heard back yet.

Maybe post a link? A lot of interest in what constitutes a Super V8 or a Daimler Super 8.

Can't see the link, at least on my end. If they don't know what they have, then who's to say they simply didn't just list it under the wrong trim?

I've noticed that this is a super common occurrence on FB marketplace with S-Types, lots of V6 and V8 NA S-Types masquerading on FB marketplace as Rs simply because the owner couldn't be bothered to select the correct trim level. I've also seen it with V6 and V8 NA XJs being listed as XJRs as well.

It's not a Super V8, no "SUPERCHARGED" printed in the instrument cluster, you can just see the Jaguar logo.

 

To close this out, the owner got back to me last night with video confirming it’s a VDP. I just suggested to him he clean up the listing for the sake of accuracy.
