Default Alpine Front Door Speakers.

I just noticed that on my Alpine Sound System the front door speakers produce almost no sound. The dash and tweeter speakers in the front work fine but the most I can get out the doors is a very low muddle. I can not find a chart that tells which speakers is which and can not figure out if this is normal or if something is not working right?

Normal, the doors are only sent midbass frequencies, the other freqs are divided amongst the dash, door handle, and subs in back parcell shelf. Dont worry.

Ok because the rear doors I can get a loud bass out of but the front just seem to not really do anything.

I had the same problem with every one of my door speakers, which is apparently common with all of Alp9ine's DD speakers. Here is how I fixed mine: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...failure-68885/

Well, they should be getting the same amount of volume and identical bass frequencies as the rear doors; make sure your Front/Rear levels are equal before comparing. If still nothing, or poor sounding, they could be blown/damaged, or like gmcgann's above. Taking one from the rear door and testing it up front will also clear up any doubts.

I get plenty of bass out of the rear doors but almost nothing in the front. The tweeters and dash ones both work fine but on both sides the best I get is a very low whisper. Nothing like the back doors and its weird that's it's both sides. Also I tried the different modes and changed the DSP but nothing seems to change

Would it be something more complicated if its both doors in the front?

If it makes any difference my phone/bluetooth does not seem to be working. Always getting that Handset message. Also the other day the system went into mute mode and couldn't shut it off till I turned the car and then the sound came back on.

I don't think there is any need to overcomplicate the issue. When separate components fail at the same time it's usually more than a coincidence, true, but it would be rare. You would have to lose two channels in the amp at the same time, or have an identical wiring problem on each side, etc. The far more likely situation is, first, that your speakers went bad as they all eventually do, and second, they probably didn't go at the same time. With all the speakers in the car you probably didn't notice when just one went out. I didn't notice when the left rear door in mine quit, only when it was joined by the front door.

Take the speaker out and test it. You can use an ohm meter to read the resistance or you can just hook it to your home stereo - unplug the wires from one of your home speakers and touch them to the terminals on the Alpine. If you get no sound, try touching the wires to the actual speaker leads from the connecter to the voice coil. If it works then you have the classic Alpine connector failure and you can fix them the way I fixed mine. Try not to drip any solder on the speaker cone.

One more point about bass response - I've discovered that if you set the DSP to "all" the bass is greatly diminished. I've heard this was for rear seat passenger comfort. If you set the DSP to front you'll get all the bass from your Snoop Dog CD.

Alright I had my speakers tested today and they work great. My local shop hooked them up to different sources and they all worked fine. The problem is the car is only sending a very low amount of sound to the front door speakers. We tried different ones and car did the same thing? Has anyone else had an issue with there alpine amps doing this?

i have not read nor heard of your specific problem in the X350. It has happened a few times on the alpine system used in the Xk8s and Rs. You should be able to find a salvage unit on ebay for CHEAP to resolve your problem.

based on what you've diagnosed to this point, I would swap the amp out. As i said, for little money, you can find out for certain, and you could do this yourself as well. its just a bunch of plugs and the amp is mounted to a small rack.

Do you have any suggestions where I might find one? I've tried looking on eBay but haven't seen anything.

Have a look on e bay UK. JoJags usually have them but they don't ship outside UK.

I can recommend my freight forwarder, forward2me, if you need one but costs will mount?

Has anyone had any luck adding a second cheap amp just for the 4 door speakers? I was told at an audio shop that this would solve my issue as well as add more volume to those speakers.

Crossovers are built into the amp, you will have full range of sound to every speaker if you go aftermarket. You dont want this.
