Default Another EPB -REALLY ODD

First... great to finally be a member.
I have found this forum to be very helpful!!

In short.. XJ 2008 2.7 d sport.

Park brake light on for over a year.
All attempts to clear failed including by mechanic J.A.G. independent Daimler and Jag specislists in Bilston West Mids.
New regs mean this is an MOT fail.
Have replaced battery, EPB Module AND
MOTOR.
Warning light is still on. No fault codes showing.
On reset light clears but rhe second the brake is applied the light comes back on

What to do? The brake properly works and engages/disengages. It is literally just the light on the dash!!

Is there a short somewhere? Please help!
Car is perfect in every other way.

That light will also illuminate for low brake fluid level. Have you checked the brake fluid and the fluid level sensor?

I had no idea I have searched tbis forum top to bottom and that's the first I heard of low brake fluid causing a park brake fault...... I will ask him to check it post haste.

Thanks.

In case it really is an EPB issue then either the module does have codes (many tools won't report them) or perhaps there is no comms between it and the ICM (cluster) - that would be a fair reason for the dash light.

Apparently there is a connector between the module and the actuator inside the car, in a well beneath the rear seat. When I had trouble with mine my Jag indie found a lot of water there (I'd left a rear window open for several days 'in the rainy season').
