Another question please about the windshield
My windshield is good but the rubber around it and the back glass are ruined from the sun. Do I have to buy new glass to get those seals or can I call a glass company and they can remove both and replace the seals? I'd like to just replace the old brittle cracked seals and not have to replace the glass if possible. Anyone know?

The rubbers are replacable but I don't know if the windscreen needs removing to fit them.
For the front (current UK retail prices):
upper is C2C18588 @ £65.03
lower is C2C18589 @ £23.78
For the back there is just the one - C2C18590 @ £10.25
Have you tried thoroughly cleaning the rubbers as they may come up ok? The fronts on my XJR looked all cracked and really terrible until I steam cleaned them* and treated them and now they look as good as new.
* be careful around the plastic trim

What you see as seals are merely trims, the windshield is secured by sealant, (aka glue), applied when the screen is put on the car at the factory. The rubbers, (and chrome pieces if fitted), are then put on to hide the ugly sealant. If you want to replace them, the screen has to come out as the rubbers are pressed into the sealant before it goes off, and its not possible to press new ones in after this. This is definitely not a DIY job, but fairly routine stuff for a windshield fitter. I had to have my rear screen out to cure some filiform corrosion as it has crept out from underneath the lower seal. Price to remove and replace my screen in the UK in 2010 was £85, plus the seals. I have no chrome trim as the car is a Sport.

Thanks for posting this question, and for those that replied. I noticed that my rear window has issues with the rubber seal. No leaks, but had been wondering what to do about it. So if I can get a window specialist to remove the window, reseal it, and push a new rubber piece back in with trim, it seems it will be good to go another 12 years. Great!
