I am planning on adding HD radio to our new Jag. The dealer wants $800 for the "factory" option. I can get an HD radio for much, much less. Does anyone know where I can interface with the antenna?

I placed the same unit in my Range Rover. The antenna plug was located in the boot and had a bizarre connector on it.

 

Well the S-Type uses a diversity antenna which is located in the rear windshield and looks like the top two grids of the defroster.. It has an amplifier behind the trim panel on the rear driver side quarter.. I'm not familiar with HD radio, I either use an MP3 player or CD's.. I also haven't the slightest idea how you would connect something to this antenna.. I think it has a single wire going into the amplifier from the window and two wired connector going out to the car/radio.. Hope its the same way on your XJ. Eric

 

Thanks for the reply. That is where it is located in the Range Rover. I guess I'll start in the left rear quarter panel. It's probably easier than digging through the dashboard.

 

What type of HD radio addon are you adding?

How are you going to get the UI pannel installed (front ashtray?)

For the antena interface check the sirius radio install instructions - it hooks to the antenna as well.
