Anyone know the proper procedure of removing fog lamps?

Default Anyone know the proper procedure of removing fog lamps?

I'm replacing them w xenons this wk as I recieved the kit today... It's a complete plug n play unit and seems simple enough......

If you are not going to tell us what year car we are talking about you need to put that information in your signature. Then you might get the information you are looking for.

Yes. You can either remove the bumper, or you need to come up with a way to remove those little plastic pieces that cover the lower grille (immediately adjacent to the fog lamps). These pieces have little tabs on them that must be sort of bent down before it will come out. You may have to remove the bumper to access them.

After that, the fog lights just have a couple of those torx screws holding them in. The photo below should give you an idea of how they are fastened in there:

Actually, if you just reach your hand in the lower grille, you may be able to push the tab down on those black plastic pieces I was talking about and pull them out. Probably won't have to remove the bumper.

One of those plastic pieces hides the hole you thread the front towing eye in to so they are designed to be user removable.

I think the end of the wheel wrench is plastic coated to you can insert it between the bumper and the top of the plastic cover and lever it out otherwise a flat screwdriver covered with something like a rag for protection should work.
