Default Sub

It's 6.5 subs, one or two. I switched them out and put in a Kicker 6.5 inch Sub, it fit fine, no problems.

Did it make a difference? I would assume that Alpine mated their amp to the specs of the subs (ohms, voice coil, etc). Just because they are the same size, does not mean they have the same power capabilities.

Default Subs

I had absolutely no problem whatsoever with the KICKER 6.5 CVT SUB. It sounded better than the original speaker and played fine. No strain on the AMP, nothing at all.
I have pics in my Alblum of Audio stuff, no direct shots of that Sub, but you can see the Subwoofer holder right above the AMPS in my trunk, right next to the 10" Subwoofer, take a look if you like.

Default Subs

Sometimes it's hard to tell who you are talking to here, but here is the info in my opinion: Some Jags came with one Sub, some came with two Subs, mine had one. Yes, stay with the 4 ohm, that won't blow the stock AMP, something lower may damage the stock Amp. Don't worry about the wattage on the speaker, it won't matter, But keep it in Human specs instead of "SOUNDOFF COMPETITION" specs. Hope that helped.

Let me know how it all goes.

Default Kicker subs

Yes that is the Sub I used, it worked great. And plug and play, yeah you can screw them in and when your finished with all, just screw out and put stock ones back in.

Be careful when screwing that Stock Sub box from under the rear deck, make sure you have something or someone to hold one side up while you unscrew the other side.

my alpine subs were 2 ohm coils
scroll down on my link, and you can see the alpine part numbers and the measurement of the factory speakers

Default Subs

OK, I never saw anything on mine or in my car that indicated that they were 2ohm, and who would figure that a car manufactorer would use 2ohm loads in their Auto's, so no, I never would have tried 2ohm loads on that factory Amp.
