Default Sub box

OK, this is gonna be fun, sort of, Lay in Trunk of car, slide up to back seats looking up, you are going to see a weird looking, plastic piece going across left to right, on the sides of this is screws, which need to be unscrewed, remember to support one side while you unscrew this box. There will be a plg or plugs that are plugged into this Box, just unplug it, it's not a big deal to do. Once all screws are out and box inplugged, you can lower on the Trunk deck and see the Top of the Sub(s). You can then unscrew the Subs, pull them out and replace them, may be plug inside of box connecting speakers, just unplug and your good to go.

In my Ablum, there is a picture from the back of Trunk of the rear view of Box. That weird Black Plastic looking thing bottom of rear Deck is the Box.

Please, please keep me informed of your progress.

This is assuming of course, that you have already removed the trunk liner.

Default Liner/Clips

Someone is going to have to explain to me what's this Trunk Liner and Clips that you are talking about?? I do not recall any clips or liner, I had to deal with, I had clips in my doors I had to deal with, but not in my trunk.

Sometimes. But they can be purchased from parts if they do break. One of the frustrating things about cars, clips were designed to hold things together well, but not to come out.

Sorry for so many posts. Honestly I am not sure how much better performance you are going to get just by replacing the existing subs. You may get better results adding additional with a dedicated amp.

What exactly is the end result you are looking for?

you dont think they will sound better w the existing amp? why not? is the amp not powerful enough? the speakers are only 150w rms w a peak of 300 they really arent thaaaaaaaat powerful

I am fairly certain that Alpine matched the specs between the amp and the drivers. The performance upgrade you will get but replacing them with better subs is marginal at best.

I was asking what you were expecting from this and suggested if you are looking for more substantial bass that you would be best adding additional drivers and amps.

The Alpine premium sound system is really no slouch for car audio. I've been in the pro audio and home theater industry for over 16 years.

IF you can, try playing Wiz Khalifa On My Level. Should be plenty of very low bass you can feel. If not, there is a problem.

The procedure is in the JTIS manual. You have to remove the lower seat bolster. Remove the seat back. Remove the left and right side trims. Slide out the rear tray cover to access the woofers. They are screwed in from the top, so removing them cannot be done from the boot. Unless they are damaged, I would just leave them as they are. Too much work for me to gain a little more base volume.

Just a point here, not wanting to state the obvious, but have you gone into the unit's volume menu screen and tried to just turn up the sub-woofer volume ??

Default Amp specs?

Anyone know what the power is that the amp is pushing to each sub?

Default Sub amp

The Amp and system your talking about is not like what your thinking. Your think Audiophile, type system, but it's not like that. Jaguar was not thinking of placing and top line Audio system in the car, so there is not an huge amount of power running through it. I don't know the exact measurements of power, but i'm sure it's not any amount you are thinking about.
