Default Arm Rest Replacement

I need to replace this. As you can see, it won't lock down. However, when I look for replacements, none of them look like what I have in my car. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi Chris welcome to the jag forum. It looks like you have posted to the wrong forum thread - this one is for XJ's after 2010 (code name X351) and from your picture it looks like you have an XJ 2004-2009 (code name X350-358). If you ask your question there you are going to get more responses but in the meantime; it looks like your car has the auxiliary climate control package for the rear seats which has a different center console armrest to the bulk of the X350-358's which is why you are seeing replacements that look different. There may be a solution to your problem that will not need a replacement so have a look at the many resources on the X350-358 forum XJ XJ6 / XJ8 / XJR ( X350 & X358 ) - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum

There is a great how-to sticky https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...k-links-20085/ and for your issue download the workshop manual body section http://redirect.viglink.com/?format=...Forum&txt=Body
and look at 501-12 which describes removal and installation of the console. Also search that forum for armrest lock.

Finally set up your signature with details of your vehicle which allows forum users to best identify your issue and offer help. Good luck

Hi Chris,

Looks like your front latch is MIA, as well as the cup holder cover. The latch panel is easy to install. Part number: C2C34128

For example:
2004 Jaguar XJ8. #C2C34128: Center Console Latch. Latch. Front; CONSOLE BODY

There is also a piece of stiff foam that goes behind the latch that acts as the spring to keep the latch/lid closed. I just cut a piece to suit from a camping bedroll type of foam. Item 3 of the picture:
