Arrow Arnott\air suspension hybrid?

So my right front air shock has a leak and i am ready to replace but the price is obviously a factor. I have someone that has a coil over conversion shock for sale and was wondering if anyone ever changed just one shock instead of all four?

A coil over shock has different characteristics than a CAT controlled air shock so I would think that mixing them on the front, or back for that matter, is not a good idea.

It would most likely handle dangerously. I'd just replace the one air shock. A full coilover kit is only more affordable if you have multiple failed components.

Additionally, I doubt you will be able to replace one axle with coil overs and keep the other axle air suspension. The car will start throwing all kinds of fault messages because it will expect to see the front rise/fall as it commands the air pressure to change. The coil over requires you to remove the complete air suspension setup.

I have an original comfort air strut that you can have for shipping if you want it. My RF developed the top seal leak last winter, I replaced both fronts with new Arnotts. The LF did not seem to have any issues. It is OE with 92k miles, and I felt the shock portion was a bit worn out. But if it helps, you are welcome to it.

Arnott gave up putting new air spring diaphragms on the Bilstein originals, but there may be firms around that still do this. Try searching the internet for 'air spring renewals'
