Default Back in a Jag 05 SV8

Hey guys been a while since I been here last, have not had a Jag in a while but as you know there is no car like it and it pulls you back in.
I bought a 05 SV8 on eBay from an estate sale. She does not run at present because she was sitting but with only 25k miles on her I should not have many issues getting her going. From the pictures the suspension if flat as well. Best case we flush everything out she fires up and goes back to normal. Worse case we spend few grand to get her ready. If she is all good she will be a garage queen if not we will make her a daily driver There are worse cars we can drive on daily basis.
Never had an XJ but seems like they are not really problem cars except for few areas that can be attended to. I had 5 X-Types including one wagon so I understand Jag issues but what should look after?
Ebay item number 111805776463
Looking forward to be back here again.

Congrats! Looks like someone stole the Leaper off the front.
Are you going to repaint?

Good score if getting it running is a simple task. The only thing I would question are the miles. While I know they state 25K I find it interested that the car is as dull as it is (roof pic), including the headlights (dull from sun fading) and the dirt or what looks like wear to me, on the steering wheel. In buying and selling a handful of Jags over the years I have never seen this kind of thing on a car with less than 50K on it.

Please keep us updated after you get it. I love the SV8 because of the rear seating tables and entertainment but since I never ride back there I guess Ill keep my XJR, lol.

Again, great score if once fixed mechanically and detailed she looks as she should.

.
Yep, looks like a bit of wear for 25k, my old XJ had 160k on it and the steering wheel was almost mint.

Anyway, looks very nice spec. and hopefully you get her restored to its former glory!

Will see how it works out, I am hoping its just sun fade and the wheel is dirty from people trying to maybe get it started. Will see how fast I can get the car up to NJ. Should be no more then a week or two. Was looking for a project so here it is.

Hoping she is the way she looks and it should not be too much trouble.

That's great for you; I was watching that auction too.

If I can help or if you get tired of it, let me know (haha).

Congratulations.

I bought mine from Daytona beach sight unseen a yr & a half ago (also bought my RRS 2 &a half yrs ago, as well as my wife's BMW Z4 back in May sight unseen) & couldn't be happier...

To the OP, congrats on the purchase; hopefully it's a small issue on getting her to purr!..

For the price don't think you could go wrong. Just looks like it was sitting outside for awhile. Good luck!

Looks like a pretty good buy, even without the leaper and one front cover

I did get a leaper on my 06 SV8, but someone stole the growler off the grill between the time the lot took photos for their listing and when I picked it up, and it was missing the boot floor/spare tire cover too.

Are those individual engine covers OEM for a 2005? I thought they all had the U shaped plastic cover. Mine was also missing its engine cover and an eBay 2003 S-type cover fit right on.

Congrats and good luck getting her up to snuff.

Here is a little more info.
Looks like the SV8 has been sitting since late 2009 so its been a few years.
Will keep everyone posted on progress.

Makes sense now given that if it sat outside for 6 years with the sun beating on it I would expect the paint and headlights to look as they do in the pic. You are also correct about the steering wheel, it could be dirt from multiple tow truck drivers getting in and out and handling it. When I owned the bodyshop I would complain to the TT drivers because they wore gloves that were filthy and would get dirt/oil/crud anywhere on the car they touched. I mentioned they should at least remove them when they get in the car but they are tow truck drivers so (at least here in AZ) they aren't the sharpest tack in the pack.
