Default back to the world of jaguar!

so in my car owning "career" , since 2002 , I have owned a 2000 xj8 , 1998 xj8 VDP , 2003 s type , 2004 x type , 1996 xjs conv. enjoyed the all for periods of time, then strayed to other marques / countries of origin. now I have once again been drawn to the sirens song and picked up a 2005 XJ8 super V8 with all the trimmings. 118k and looks showroom fresh. all for under 14k! you have to love depreciation when its on your side! I miss the ride, the looking out over the long bonnet... the smell / wood. nothing else like it on the road in this sea of mediocrity we call automotive design these days. if I see an x308 on the road these days its like spotting Brigitte Nielsen (in her good day) on the streets of Tokyo! anyhow here are a couple of pics

having the tint removed as it is a bit dark for my taste ... plus the police in NJ don't like it and I don't feel like being harassed anymore (had enough when I was a younger man). car came from texas so I sure it was more practical there

just a general comment on the x350 after owning x308's...
with the long wheelbase model , the x308 VDP always bugged me with the very noticeable difference in door size. im happy that jaguar made the dimensions blend much more and it doesn't look like a "limo" or hired car.

Gorgeous car, domer94!

The color scheme is very similar to our '93 XJ40 VDP, which I've always loved on Jags.

Welcome back!

Cheers,

Don

I owned the same make model year and color. I love the car. I hope it runs as great as mine did and gives you many years of enjoyment.

how are you liking the new XJ? my older cousin came by with a white one he had picked up with about 30k miles and it was gorgeous. very slick. however, a bit too slick for my taste right now! im still trying to hang on to the traditional designs like a dinosaur I guess. one thing I found a bit odd was the "bathtub" feel of the dash. I like the wood trim under the windshield area, but I tend towards the dash blending into the bonnet through the windshield on the same level.
