Dad trained this way:

"Figure half the other fools on the road are homicidal maniacs who mean to kill you without warning."

"Understand that?"

"That was the easy part."

"Your job for the rest of your driving life is to stay alert enough to figure out WHICH HALF before they are even aware you are on to their sneaky suicidal games!"

Still works for me.

I had to look up BFBI .

I know only what I know in terms of the drivers. But the Szczecin drivers were a special kind of TERRIBAD. Combination of horrible road design from the days before automobiles and zero investment until only the past 5-10 years due to longstanding paranoia about the country being ceded back to Germany as it is on the west side of the Oder. Had some trouble on the B roads in Hungary and Slovakia for sure. Nearly killed by some impatient driver in Romania once also that didn't want to wait and decided to overtake a long line of traffic just as I was about to make a left hand turn... good thing I checked my wingmirror or I'd be dead.

Never driven personally in Montreal, only with family long ago. Not pleasant.

ROFLMAO!!!

That IS why we NEED "deeper look-ahead" and better reflexes than the average bear, and why brakes and handling matter more than BFBI acceleration!!

Far worse drivers to be found on the Continent than Poles, BTW!

Quick reply manages no quotes... so no one would know what I responding to in the previous message/reply.

And even then, 'defensive driving' can only go so far.

The greater challenge is that air strikes do such a lousy job of clearing their own debris.
