Big mileage !
I just, today, found this on YouTube.
The kms run is actually 554,665 which equates to 344653 miles. So it hasn't done badly, has it ?
Sorry, but it's all in Dutch
"De Jaguar XJ, een auto die heel veel liefhebbers op hun verlanglijstje hebben staan, maar waarvan slechts weinigen daadwerkelijk tot aanschaf overgaan. Omdat ze het niet aandurven. Zo niet Evert Weide. Na een oerdegelijke en uiterst rationele Mercedes-Benz E-klasse diesel stapte hij in 2013 over in deze prachtige, zeer stijlvolle Britse sedan. Zes jaar later staat de teller ruim boven de vijf ton. Respect!!

After a rock-solid and extremely rational Mercedes-Benz E-class diesel, he switched in 2013 to this beautiful, very stylish British sedan. Six years later, the counter is well above five tons. Respect!"

I would say that there will have been quite a lot of replacement suspension parts, but the drive train is, as Rikk says, pretty well bullet proof. The body shell, doors, bootlid, bonnet is all aluminium, (my XE is only "aluminium-intensive"), so I expect it is still doing well. Fuel tank straps may have failed once, those on my first X350 did, but stainless steel ones are now available on the after market. I suspect it will be the electronic modules that may be the final enemy !
If only Jaguar had not been so hung-up on having air springs, and had a better suspension design that was more durable, I would still have my second X350 now.

Fraser -
Your posts are always interesting and informative. However, the video is not ALL in Dutch - I mean, is there no phrase in Dutch for "more or less"? LOL
And too bad I can't take my car to that shop - It is by far the cleanest auto shop ever - even with tube lights embedded into the lift platforms.
Makes me hope I can keep my car on the road for that many miles.

And perhaps the best part of this thread is the reference to "Triggers Broom" - which of course I had to google up and see what that's about.
OMG funny - now I have a new you tube to follow - - if only I better understood your language!
I guess I'll have to double up on my single malts this evening and fully check out Only Fools and Horses!!!
NO DRIVING THE JAG TONIGHT!!!
Be safe everyone and Happy New Year!

A few years there was an article in the X350 section of the Jaguar Enthusiasts Club magazine about a UK registered X350 that had done 450k miles. Explanation was it was driven daily between somewhere in East Anglia to London, the owner being in finance or something. Personally, I'd have thought he must be living in the car to use it that much !! The magazine editor had an X350 3.5 litre V6 on 225k miles and counting, then hit a deer at night that damaged the front. The insurance company wrote off the car as it was worth very little, and he went on to an X351, the later model, but is now back with an X350, a 3 litre V6, I think.
